Master and Erasmus projects available

We have a range of Master and Erasmus projects available in the group.

Most of them include structural characteristaion with techniques such as DLS and SAXS.

Some of them involve model cellular membrane models and the use of surface senstive techniques such as QCM-D, ATR-FTIR and AFM.

Others require expression of recombinant strains and purification of lipids and proteins.

Here a list of the projects currently available:

1. Structural analysis of subfractions of lipoproteins containing only a specific apolipoprotein

2. Determine lipid exchange between deuterated membranes and lipoproteins using FT-IR.

3.  Producing and structurally characterising lipid based nanoparticles

4. Producing and purification of campesterol for model cell membranes

5. Structural characterization of reconstituted HDL particles containing disease associated apoA-I variants

6. Casein based capsules as mimics of casein micelles in milk

7. Antimicrobial peptides at model membranes

8. Structural studies of bicelles using X-rays and light scattering
