At the moment the group is composed by three postdocs and 2 PhD students.

Dr. Nicolo Paracini, who works on advancing models for cellular membranes including those containing membrane bound enzyme complexes or metabolons.

Dr. Rita del Giudice, who works on recombinant protein production of membrane bound enzymes and methods for their reconstitution in membranes.

Dr. Federica Sebastiani, who is now working on lipid exchange between human lipoproteins and model membranes using mainly NR.

Ms. Sarah Waldie, who is a shared PhD student with the Institute Laue Langiven and works wih expression of apolipoproteins and reconstitution of artificial nascent HDL particles.

Ms. Yubexi Correa, who is a PhD student attempting to create an artificial mature HDL particles and studying lipoprotein fractions from patients with different clinical profiles.

We work closely together with…

PhD student Josefine Nielsen at Olso University (Assoc. Prof. Reidar Lund)

Some students that left the group…

Dr. Dainius Jakabauskas, who is fascinated by lipid structures of the cellular membranes. He applied SANS to follow the effect of cholesterol on lipid exchange between lipoproteins. He also looks at the structure of LDL subfractions for patients with different trygliceride serum levels using SAXS.

Dr. Selma Maric. Selma enjoys developing methods and strategies that give greater understanding of the cell and many basic biophysical principles, her motivation lies in seeing the methods we develop applied to solving current problems pertinent to human health. E.g. improve our understanding of important proteins that are involved in disease such as tuberculosis, malaria and atherosclerosis. She is currently the Life Science Industrial Liasson Officer at MaxIV.

Dr. Tania K. Lind. Tania is an enthusiastic scientist now working on improving drug formulation in an analytical scientist at Bioneer:FARMA.
